The startup idea
Sondre posted TrackJump on October 29. A jump mat only registers the feet leaving and landing. Land with a bend in the knees and you add air time, so the number goes up. He built the app for jumpers. The App Store listing is free. The minimum system is iOS 26. Onboarding uses the selfie camera, asks you to stand still, and lets you try a first jump with no account. After that demo, a weekly or yearly subscription, or an active trial, is required to enter the main app. Pro includes recording sessions, video import, athlete profiles, and progress review. Saved data stays when access ends. The listing says the camera measurements are estimates. Lighting, framing, frame rate, technique, and whether takeoff and landing are visible all affect the result. You can correct event timing by hand. Contact-based RSI is shown only when the recording supports it. Guest data can stay on the iPhone. An account is optional, for backup. It is a training tool, not a medical device, and not a certified competition measurement. The post explains the mat. It does not say the phone number is an estimate, or that the main app stops after one jump. This page did not film a jump.
The opportunity is the video next to the number, so a coach can see the knees. A smaller product is one demo jump, the word estimate on the result, and the subscription before the second session. A phone that claims a certified height is not this listing.
Do not call it a mat. Do not hide the paywall after the first jump.
The problem
A mat adds air time when the knees bend, and a coach still wants the rep on video.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A jumper or coach on iOS 26 who wants the rep on video.
- Secondary
- Someone who will stay a guest and keep the data on the phone.
- Early adopter
- One demo jump, estimate on screen, then the subscription.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what TrackJump charges.
- The listing price is free.
- The main app needs a weekly or yearly subscription, or a trial.
- The post does not print the price. The store shows it before purchase.
What would the MVP look like?
- One guided jump.
- Estimated height beside the video.
- A way to correct the landing frame.
- The paywall after the demo.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people whether the second session opened without paying.
- If it did, the listing is stale.
- Do not compare the number to a certified mat and call them the same.
How to differentiate
- The video is the measurement.
- The number is labeled an estimate.
- The first jump is the demo.
- Do not become a force plate.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. TrackJump did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
Sondre's post says a jump mat only sees your feet leave and land. Bend your knees and the number goes up, so he built TrackJump. The App Store listing is free, and the minimum system is iOS 26. The first jump in onboarding needs no account. After that demo, a weekly or yearly subscription, or an active trial, is required to enter the main app. Pro is what unlocks recording sessions, video import, athlete profiles, and progress review. The listing says camera measurements are estimates. Lighting, framing, frame rate, and whether takeoff and landing are visible all change the result. It is a training tool, not a certified competition measurement, and not a medical device. You can correct the event timing by hand. The post does not say iOS 26, or that the main app is behind the subscription. This page did not record a jump.
