Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.

The startup idea
Michael Magán posted Charming on October 7. The post says personal apps are for the group chat, that you build them in Claude or ChatGPT, and that you share them like a Google Doc. It says go wild, it is free. The page says Charming hosts collaborative apps you build in chat, and that you share them for people to use in chat or in the browser. Free is $0 a month for personal projects with family and friends: unlimited apps, 1 GB of storage, 10 saved versions, and 24 hours of activity history. Pro is $8 a month: 25 GB, 50 saved versions, 30 days of history, no Charming mark, and custom domains. The team plan is from $14 per seat a month, three seats minimum. The FAQ repeats that Pro is $8 a month and the team plan is $14 per seat with three seats minimum. The page also lists Gemini, Cursor, and others next to Claude and ChatGPT. This page did not build an app.
The opportunity is the link the rest of the group can open, and the sentence that free is not Pro. The post's free line matches the personal plan. It does not match the $8 plan or the team minimum. A smaller product is one app, a browser link, the 1 GB written on the free plan, and $8 on the same screen. If a friend has to install the same chat tool, the share failed.
Do not say the product is free. The personal plan is $0. Pro is $8. Do not treat the post's Claude and ChatGPT line as the whole list. The page names more. Do not invent how many apps a group actually kept.
The problem
The app lives in one person's chat. The rest of the group cannot open it without the same tool and a rebuild.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- Someone who wants a small app for a book club, a meal plan, or a vote, and a link their friends can open.
- Secondary
- A person who will pay $8 only after the free plan's 1 GB or 24 hours of history is the thing that ran out.
- Early adopter
- One app, three people, one link that opens in the browser.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Charming charges.
- The page says free is $0 a month.
- Pro is $8 a month. The FAQ says the same.
- The team plan is $14 per seat a month, three seats minimum. That is a $42 floor, their minimum, not a price this page invented.
What would the MVP look like?
- One app built in chat.
- A link that opens in the browser.
- The $0 plan with 1 GB and 24 hours of history.
- The $8 plan on the same page.
- The post's free line labeled as the personal plan.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people to send one app to a friend who does not use the same chat tool.
- If the friend cannot open it, the Google Doc line was the pitch and it is not the product.
- Do not add custom domains until one free app is still open a week later.
How to differentiate
- The friend opens a link, not a rebuild.
- Free, $8, and the team minimum are on one page.
- The chat tool is how you build it, not how they use it.
- Do not become a website builder. The group is the customer.
Why this could be interesting now
The post and the pricing page landed the same day. The opening is one link, and a free plan that says what it is not.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Charming did not write it.
