The receipt that stays on the phone
A household split by income, on one iPhone, with five free scans a month and unlimited scans only on the €2.99 plan the post never names.

The startup idea
António Silva posted Justa on October 14. An iOS app for couples who share expenses. Fair splits by income, one tap to settle, receipt scanning on the device. No account and no server. Coming soon at aacnsilva.com/justa. The page says it is not in the App Store yet. Free, iPhone, iOS 17 or later. No account, no server, and the page says data is not collected. The free plan is one iPhone: a monthly plan split by income, a percent, or a fixed amount, extras, settle-up, and five receipt scans a month. Apple Vision reads the receipt on the phone. Nothing is uploaded, and the photo is not kept. Justa Plus is €9.99 once. It does not renew. It unlocks a second iPhone, a shared Files folder that keeps the latest save, and Family Sharing. Justa Pro is €2.99 a month, or €19.99 a year, about €1.67 a month, which the page calls 44 percent off the year. Pro is the unlimited scans, from the camera, photos, and PDFs, and sharing lasts while the subscription does. Prices are listed in euros. The App Store shows the price for your country. Apple processes the payment. The €7.91 between Inês and Tiago is a sample on the page. This page did not install the app.
The opportunity is the split that matches the incomes, with the receipt never leaving the phone. A smaller product is one month, one scan, and a number both people can see. The post says the scanning is part of the free app. The page gives the free plan five scans and sells the rest.
Do not say it is in the App Store. The page says coming soon. Do not say every receipt is free. Five a month are.
The problem
One person paid. The other cannot see the receipt, and 50/50 ignores who earns what.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A couple who already split the rent by what each person earns.
- Secondary
- Someone who will not put household receipts on a server.
- Early adopter
- One iPhone, one month, five scans.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Justa charges.
- Free: one iPhone, five scans a month.
- Plus: €9.99 once, a second iPhone.
- Pro: €2.99 a month or €19.99 a year, unlimited scans.
What would the MVP look like?
- An income split on one phone.
- A receipt read by Apple Vision, with the photo not kept.
- Five free scans, written next to the unlimited plan.
- A line that the App Store listing is not live.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five households to log one real month on a single phone.
- If they need the second phone before they will start, Plus was the product, not the free split.
- Do not promise a store date the page does not print.
How to differentiate
- The default split is income, not half.
- The receipt stays on the phone.
- Sharing is a file both people open, not an account.
- Do not become a bank.
Why this could be interesting now
The post and the page agree on the income split, the on-device scan, and the missing account. Only the page prices the second phone and the sixth scan. The opening is one month a couple can settle without uploading the receipt.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Justa did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
António's post says he built Justa, an iPhone app for couples who share expenses. Splits by income, one tap to settle, receipt scanning on the device. No account, no server. Coming soon. The page says the same, and that it is not in the App Store yet. Free on one iPhone, iOS 17 or later. Five receipt scans a month. Apple Vision reads the photo on the phone, nothing is uploaded, and the photo is not kept. Justa Plus is €9.99 once and unlocks a second iPhone. Justa Pro is €2.99 a month, or €19.99 a year, and that is the plan with unlimited scans. Prices are in euros. The App Store shows the local price. The €7.91 on the page is a sample household, not a receipt this page scanned.
