The quota, on the wrist
Show what is left, and when it resets, on the watch and the phone, and label every dollar as an estimate.

Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.

The startup idea
Yewlne's post says VibePeek is a beta, after bug fixes over the holiday. It shows Claude Code and Codex usage, remaining quota, and reset times on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. All features are free for now. The download is vibepeek.app. The site says the same devices, and it adds estimated spend. It is labeled beta, and it says you may hit bugs. The FAQ says there are no subscriptions, that download pricing is on the App Store, and that the AI provider's charges are separate. It also says costs are estimates, and the provider's invoice is the final amount. Asked what leaves the Mac, the page says usage summaries and sync status, not prompts, responses, code, or full logs. The film's cards show sample percentages and a dollar line. The site's own image captions call those screens samples, including a sample 16 percent on the watch. This page is not repeating them as anyone's usage. A screen list in the app also names Cursor, Antigravity, Qoder, Grok CLI, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Hermes, OpenClaw, and Aider, beyond the two tools in the post. This page did not connect an account, and it did not open the App Store listing.
The opportunity is the glance, not a second bill. Headroom, already in this catalog, reads logs in a Mac menu bar and says the usage stays on the Mac. This one says a summary leaves, so the phone and the watch can show it. That is a different product, and the page should keep the word estimate on every dollar. A smaller version is one harness, the reset, and the time the Mac last synced. A watch that shows a stale quota as if it were live will get turned off the first afternoon it is wrong.
Do not quote the film's percentages or the $23 line. They are a sample. Do not say the app is free on the store. The post says the features are free for now. The FAQ points at App Store pricing and says there is no subscription. This page did not check the listing. Do not merge it with Headroom.
The problem
The limit runs out while the person is away from the Mac. A menu bar does not travel.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A developer who pays for Claude Code or Codex and will look at a watch.
- Secondary
- Someone who already has the phone, and will not keep a menu bar open.
- Early adopter
- You, on the plan that actually runs out.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what VibePeek charges.
- The post says all features are free for now. The FAQ says no subscription, and that download pricing is on the App Store. Quote both. Do not invent the store price.
- Provider charges are separate. The dollar in the app is an estimate, on their FAQ.
- A later charge, if they add one, should be the app. Reselling the tokens is a different company.
What would the MVP look like?
- One account.
- Quota and reset on the watch.
- The same numbers on the phone.
- The time of the last sync.
- The word estimate on any dollar.
How to validate the idea
- Compare one afternoon with the provider's own page. If the reset is wrong, the watch does not matter.
- Leave the Mac offline. See if the watch still looks current.
- Ignore every number in the film until it matches your own account.
How to differentiate
- The watch and the phone, not only the menu bar.
- A summary leaves the Mac. Say so. Headroom's claim is the opposite.
- Estimates are labeled.
- The two tools in the post first. The longer list is the app's, and it was not tested here.
Why this could be interesting now
The post puts the quota on the watch while another film, Headroom, keeps the month in the menu bar. The opening is one plan, the reset, the last sync, and an estimate that is named as an estimate.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. VibePeek did not write it.
