The apply button that is a different app
A MIT job search that keeps the CV in the browser, and a Windows app that applies only after you allow it.

Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.

The startup idea
İshak posted TapSubmit on October 20. Find jobs that match your CV and auto-apply. Try it free at jobs.tapsubmit.com. Still early, fully open source. The repository is isobed18/tapsubmit. The readme says MIT. The website finds jobs only. The CV is read in the browser. Only detected roles, skills, and the region you choose are sent. No account, no sign-in to job sites, and no applications. The Windows app keeps the account, CV, sign-ins, answers, and history in a data folder on the computer. TapSubmit has no server copy of them. Applications are sent only after you allow them, for the sites and limits you choose. Unknown questions are never guessed. The job waits. A shared pool of public postings is off by default. The website uses no generative model. The post says auto-apply, and it points at the website. The readme says the website does not apply. This page did not submit a job.
The opportunity is the form that stops when it does not know the answer. A smaller product is search on the site, apply on the Windows app, and a label that the two are not the same. An auto-apply that guesses a screening question is the failure the readme already refuses.
Do not say the free site submits applications. It does not. Do not say the CV is uploaded.
The problem
The same form, on another site, and the person is the one retyping it.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- Someone applying to the same kind of role on more than one company site.
- Secondary
- A Windows user who will keep job-site sign-ins in a local browser profile.
- Early adopter
- One search, one allowed site, and a question left for the person.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what TapSubmit charges.
- No price. MIT.
- The post says try it for free.
- The readme does not name a paid tier.
What would the MVP look like?
- A website search that does not apply.
- A Windows app that applies after a yes.
- Unknown questions left unanswered.
- The pool marked off unless the person turns it on.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people which product submitted the application, the site or the app.
- If they say the site, the post won and the readme did not.
- Do not count a guessed answer as a completed form.
How to differentiate
- The CV stays in the browser on the site.
- Apply is a second program, on Windows.
- The model on the site is a small encoder, not a chat.
- Do not become a recruiter.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. TapSubmit did not write it.
