The estimate that leaves no room
One link for a secret planning-poker vote, a room that closes in 10 minutes, and a page that says open source while the repo has no license.

Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.

The startup idea
Gabriel Quaresma posted PokerEstima on October 11. Planning poker for a team on a call. Share one link, everyone votes in secret, the facilitator reveals, and the room deletes itself after 10 minutes. No sign-up. Nothing to install. Free and open source. The page says the same. A room also closes 30 seconds after the last person leaves. Up to 10 people type a name and take a seat. Votes stay hidden until the facilitator reveals. The deck is a modified Fibonacci set: 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40 and 100. After the reveal you see every vote, the average, the nearest card and the split. It is built for a 400px window next to Meet, Zoom or Teams. The sample round on the page says the names and votes are made up. There is a Ko-fi link for the person keeping the rooms running, and a GitHub link. The GitHub API lists no license. This page did not open a room.
The opportunity is the vote that does not outlive the call. A smaller product is one link, one reveal, and nothing stored. The post says the room deletes itself after 10 minutes. The page adds the 30-second leave rule and the cap of 10.
Do not say it is licensed open source. The page says open source. The repository has no license file. Do not quote the sample average as a real team.
The problem
The first number said out loud becomes the estimate. The tool that keeps the history then keeps the team.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A team that estimates on a call and does not want the first number to anchor the rest.
- Secondary
- A facilitator who will not ask ten people to make an account.
- Early adopter
- One link, one task, one reveal.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what PokerEstima charges.
- The page says it is free and has no ads.
- Ko-fi is a tip, not a plan.
- The post says open source. The repository has no license.
What would the MVP look like?
- One shareable room.
- Secret votes, then one reveal with the average.
- A close at 10 minutes, or 30 seconds after the last person leaves.
- A license, which this repository does not have.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five teams to run one real estimate in the room.
- If they still say the number out loud first, the secret vote was not the product.
- Do not add accounts until one room is used twice.
How to differentiate
- The room is gone when the call is.
- No account, and the history is not the product.
- Ten seats, not a company workspace.
- Do not become Jira.
Why this could be interesting now
The post and the page agree on the link, the secret vote, and the 10 minutes. They do not agree that open source has a license. The opening is one estimate a team is about to make on a call.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. PokerEstima did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
Gabriel's post says he built PokerEstima: planning poker for a team on a call. Share one link, everyone votes in secret, the facilitator reveals, and the room deletes itself after 10 minutes. No sign-up. Nothing to install. Free and open source. The page says the same, and adds that a room also closes 30 seconds after the last person leaves. Up to 10 people. The deck is 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40 and 100. It is meant to sit in a 400px window next to Meet, Zoom or Teams. The sample round on the page says the names and votes are made up. There is a Ko-fi link. The GitHub repository has no license file.
