The startup idea
Sebastian posted Full-Duplex Code on October 21. He talks to Claude Code, Codex, or Pi out loud, including "start the beta session" and "turn yourself off." He says it is open source. The repository is CakeCrusher/full_duplex_code. The readme says the agent keeps its normal terminal. A browser companion, powered by GPT Live 1, follows messages, edits, commands, and tool results, answers from that, and can pass a request to the agent in the middle of a turn. The tested setup is macOS, Node.js 22.18 or newer, Chrome, a microphone, the agent already signed in, and an OpenAI key with access to GPT Live 1. Codex wants 0.155 or newer, or Pi 1.0. The license is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Free for noncommercial use. Commercial use is not granted. The post says open source. A company cannot ship this under that license. This page did not start a session.
The opportunity is the redirect you can say without sitting down. A smaller product is one agent, one spoken correction, and the license on the first screen. The voice still spends an OpenAI key. The coding agent is one the person already pays for.
Do not call the license open source in the OSI sense. Commercial use is not granted. Do not hide the GPT Live key.
The problem
The agent is working, and the only way to stop it is still the keyboard.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A person who already runs Claude Code, Codex, or Pi and leaves the desk while it works.
- Secondary
- Someone who will run Chrome on a Mac and bring an OpenAI key.
- Early adopter
- One spoken stop, and the noncommercial line.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Full-Duplex Code charges.
- No price on the app. PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0.
- Commercial use is not granted.
- GPT Live 1 is billed on the user's OpenAI key.
What would the MVP look like?
- A browser companion next to one agent.
- A request that lands mid-turn.
- The OpenAI key line.
- The noncommercial license, named.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people to redirect a run without touching the keyboard.
- If the agent never received the sentence, the voice was a narration.
- Do not sell a hosted copy. The license does not allow it.
How to differentiate
- The agent keeps its own terminal.
- You can talk while a turn is still running.
- The license draws a line at commercial use.
- Do not become another coding agent.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Full-Duplex Code did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
Sebastian's post says he can boss Claude Code, Codex, or Pi around out loud, and the voice part is open source. The readme says a browser companion, powered by GPT Live 1, follows the agent's messages, edits, and tool results, and can hand a request over mid-turn. The tested setup is macOS, Node.js 22.18 or newer, Chrome, a microphone, and the agent already signed in. It also wants an OpenAI key with access to GPT Live 1. The license is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Free for noncommercial use. Commercial use is not granted. The post says open source. The license does not grant a company the right to ship it. This page did not talk to an agent.
