An inbox so the agents stay quiet
Collapse every coding-agent thread into one list, and only interrupt when one of them is stuck.

The startup idea
Savannah's post introduces Agentbox as a way to work with many agents. She says human attention is the bottleneck, and that Agentbox lets one person manage 20 or more at once. Every agent chat collapses into one inbox. Agents stay quiet until they need you, and they prioritize themselves. She says it is fast, keyboard driven, free for Mac, open source, and runs on your Claude Code or Codex plan. The 20 or more is the pitch, not a user count. The repo says it can also run in the browser on your machine, with no server and no account.
The opportunity is the quiet. Look-alike apps show every session. This one is only interesting if most of them do not ping you. A founder should not build a general agent platform. Build the inbox for the two harnesses a developer already runs, with a badge when an agent is blocked and silence when it is not.
Do not claim a person can manage 20 agents because the post says so. Try it. If you still open every thread, the inbox did not change the work.
The problem
A person running many agents spends the attention on windows that did not need them.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A developer running more than one Claude Code or Codex task at a time.
- Secondary
- A lead who wants to see which agent is blocked without reading every log.
- Early adopter
- You, on the agents you already left running.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Agentbox charges.
- The post says free and open source, on the plan you already pay the model company for. Do not invent a second subscription.
- A paid build is only honest after someone wants sharing, a team inbox, or a signed auto-update.
- The model bill stays where it is. You are not the one selling tokens.
What would the MVP look like?
- The agents already installed on one Mac.
- One inbox.
- A waiting state when the agent asked a question.
- No notification when it is still working.
- Keyboard first, because the post treats that as the point.
How to validate the idea
- Use it for a week beside the normal windows. Count how often you open an agent that was not waiting.
- If that number does not drop, you built a second window.
- Ask what 'needs you' means. If every token of progress pings, the product failed.
How to differentiate
- Silence is the feature. A dashboard of every token is the opposite.
- Two harnesses, not a new agent.
- Local. The repo's claim of no server is the part worth keeping.
- Do not become email. There is already email.
Why this could be interesting now
People are starting more agent threads than they can watch. The Agentbox post is a public inbox for that, with the interrupt reserved for a question.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Agentbox did not write it.
