Esaia's post says InstantShot is open source, free on Mac or Windows, for screenshots with custom backgrounds. The readme says MIT. One shortcut snips a region into an editor with wallpapers, window chrome, size presets, arrows, and blur. Another shortcut copies text from the screen. OCR uses Apple Vision on macOS and Windows.Media.Ocr on Windows. No uploads, no accounts, no analytics. It lives in the menu bar or the tray, and it updates itself from GitHub releases after asking. The post does not mention the text shortcut, or the update check. This page did not take a screenshot.
