Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.
Startup idea analysis by Startup Ideas. Last reviewed Oct 27, 2026. How we read a launch.
The startup idea
A post on October 27 says CrychicUI is fully open source, with 1,500 MyGo components in the library. The website is not ready for a phone yet. Custom settings and more variants are later. The site is crychicui.zacharyzhang.com. The repository is ELY-Open-Source/CrychicUI. The readme says 1,500 components in 38 packages. MyGo draws them on the GPU. There is no HTML, no JavaScript, and no WebView. go get is the install, and it requires Go 1.27.1 and MyGo v0.5.5. Every component animates. Interactive ones play a sound synthesized in the sound package, on by default, with a call to turn them all off. The license file is MIT. The readme does not mention it. The post admits the site is a poor phone page. It does not mention the MyGo pin, or the sound. This page did not build a window.
The opportunity is a desktop control that is not a web view. A smaller product is one component, the MyGo version on the install line, and sound off as a one-line option. A kit you drop into a browser is a different product.
Do not say it runs in a web view. Do not skip the MyGo requirement.
The problem
A desktop UI still gets rebuilt as HTML, and every control comes back silent.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A Go developer building a desktop app who already uses MyGo.
- Secondary
- Someone who will pin Go 1.27.1 rather than the browser.
- Early adopter
- One control, sound optional, the version line visible.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what CrychicUI charges.
- No price. The license file is MIT.
- The readme does not state the license.
- The post says open source.
What would the MVP look like?
- One component from go get.
- MyGo v0.5.5 named.
- Sound off in one call.
- No WebView.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people whether the first window needed a browser.
- If it did, it was not this library.
- Do not count the website on a phone as the kit working.
How to differentiate
- It draws on the GPU through MyGo.
- Sound is synthesized, not a file.
- The phone site is not the product.
- Do not become a CSS framework.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. CrychicUI did not write it.
