Browser extension layer for AI agents
Let an agent use the extensions a person already trusts, instead of a bare browser.

Difficulty is an editorial estimate of technical and operational complexity, not a score.
Startup idea analysis by Startup Ideas. Last reviewed Oct 6, 2026. How we read a launch.
The startup idea
The opportunity is not to rebuild Browser Use. Their launch shows an agent opening a browser that already has extensions loaded: an ad blocker, a password manager, or one the team uploaded. The useful company is the layer underneath that moment.
A founder could build a place where an agent session starts from a known browser profile. Someone decides which extensions are allowed, the session records what those extensions touched, and a team can reuse that setup on the next run. The agent product can stay someone else’s. This product is the permission and the profile.
That is a different sale from “we browse the web for you.” The buyer already has an agent, or is about to. They are stuck because the agent’s browser is empty, and the work they care about lives inside an extension. Niches fall out of that: ecommerce operators who live in one admin extension, research teams with a clipping tool, or a company that will not let an agent run without the same extension IT already deploys.
The problem
Browsing agents start from a clean profile, so they cannot use the ad blocker, password manager, or internal extension a team already depends on.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- Developers shipping a browser agent who need it to start from a real Chrome setup.
- Secondary
- IT teams that will only allow an agent if it uses an approved set of extensions.
- Early adopter
- A small agent startup that is hand-loading extensions for every demo.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Browser Use charges.
- A hosted browser session, priced by hour or by concurrent session, is the straightforward version.
- A team plan for a shared allow-list, audit log, and more than one seat.
- An API the agent calls when it needs a browser, rather than a full agent product of your own.
- None of this is evidence that Browser Use charges this way. These are options for a new product.
What would the MVP look like?
- Chromium only.
- An allow-list of a few extensions, including one the user uploads.
- One agent, or even a manual script, connected to that browser.
- A log of which extension was present when the page loaded.
- A way to turn an extension off without rebuilding the session from scratch.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five teams building browser agents which extension they reinstall by hand before a demo.
- Offer to load that one extension for them for a week and see if they come back.
- A landing page that asks for the extension they cannot live without. The replies are the roadmap.
- Do the first version as a service: you configure the profile, they send the task.
How to differentiate
- Stay off the agent itself. Be the browser profile other agents attach to.
- Pick one vertical, such as ecommerce admin tools, and support the extensions those operators already pay for.
- Sell the audit log to a company that has to explain what the agent was allowed to touch.
- Keep it local for teams that will not send a logged-in browser to a vendor.
Why this could be interesting now
Browser agents are leaving demos and hitting the same wall: the useful web is behind extensions a clean profile does not have. The Browser Use film is one public example of a team solving that for their own agent. The surrounding product, a profile other agents can use, is still a separate company.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Browser Use did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
Chrome extensions loaded into a browsing agent before the first page. Ad blockers, password managers, or one you upload yourself.
