A film that starts from the brief, not the prompt box
Turn one sentence into a storyboard a person can still edit, then a film, and put the price and the credit rules on the same screen as the button.

Startup idea analysis by Startup Ideas. Last reviewed Oct 7, 2026. How we read a launch.
The startup idea
Argil's account posted Director on October 7. The post says describe the story and get a film with 80% less iteration, and calls it the best video harness on the planet. Both lines are theirs. The CEO, Brivael Le Pogam, posted a minute later and linked the same site. His bio says Argil is YC S24. The site says you start from a brief, make the creative choices, and Argil handles the production: characters, locations, a storyboard, then the film. The pricing page lists Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Pro's features include Director, monthly credits that do not stack, access to all models, and email support. A line on that page says Pro lets you start from $50 a month. Plan credits refresh and do not roll over. Extra pay-as-you-go credits do not expire. The page shows a launch offer, 40% off yearly and 20% off monthly, ending Thursday at 3 pm Paris time. This page did not render a film.
The opportunity is the storyboard a person still edits, not another prompt box. The 80% is not a measurement this page made. A smaller product is one brief, shots they can change, one short export, and the price next to a credit that does not roll over. If the offer ends Thursday, the page after Thursday should not keep the discount.
Do not repeat best-on-the-planet. Do not treat the sample film in the post as a customer's result. Do not mix this price with older docs that still say $39 or $149. This page used the pricing page that was up on October 7.
The problem
The story is stuck because every version is a new prompt, and nobody wrote down which choice was theirs.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- Someone with a story they have not been able to get produced, who will still choose the shots.
- Secondary
- A small team that wants a shared workspace, which the page puts on Business.
- Early adopter
- One brief, one storyboard, one short film, on the plan whose price you can point at.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what Argil charges.
- Pro starts from $50 a month, on the pricing page, and includes Director.
- Plan credits do not stack. Extra credits do not expire. Say both.
- The launch discount is on the page and dated. Do not leave it up after Thursday at 3 pm Paris time unless the page still says it.
- Do not quote the old $39 and $149 docs as today's price.
What would the MVP look like?
- One brief.
- A storyboard they can change.
- One short film.
- The price, the credit rule, and the offer's end, on the same screen.
How to validate the idea
- Ask five people with an unmade story if they will finish one storyboard.
- If they cannot tell their choice from the model's, the director part is missing.
- Do not add a team seat until one person exports a film they would actually post.
How to differentiate
- The storyboard is the product, not the prompt.
- The 80% stays labeled as their line.
- Credits that do not roll over are said before the charge.
- Do not become a model directory. The film is the job.
Why this could be interesting now
The post puts Director on the site the same day the pricing page names it on Pro. The opening is one brief, an editable storyboard, and a price that matches the page.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. Argil did not write it.

Product that inspired this idea
Argil's post introduces Director and says a film takes 80% less iteration. That 80% is their line. The pricing page puts Director on Pro, and a line says Pro starts from $50 a month. Plan credits do not stack. Extra credits do not expire. The page shows a launch offer, 40% off yearly and 20% off monthly, ending Thursday at 3 pm Paris time.
