Sign-in that belongs to the agent
Let an agent sign in as itself, with a human owner on the record, instead of borrowing a password.

The startup idea
Haakam Aujla's post introduces AgentID as “Sign in with Google” for AI agents. Agents sign in with their own inbox and an identity linked to a human owner. The thread says this is standard OIDC via Clerk, Auth0, Supabase, and more, and that agents authenticate themselves instead of borrowing a login. The integration they publish is a prompt: read the AgentID reference, then run npx @agentmail/agentid-cli init. The post says millions of agents already use AgentMail. That is their claim. This page does not verify it. Their blog describes AgentID as an OpenID Connect provider, free for an app to add, and says a registered app can receive the owning human's email.
The opportunity is not another inbox. It is the moment an agent has to create or enter an account. Pasting a person's password into an agent is a liability. Giving the agent its own identity, naming the human, and letting you revoke the agent without locking the human out, is the narrower company. The buyer is whoever is about to let agents use their app, or a team whose agent keeps dying at a login screen.
Do not copy the reply offer of three free months, and do not repeat “millions” as a number you counted.
The problem
Agents stall at login, or they reuse a person's account and nobody can tell who did the work.
Who would pay for this?
- Primary
- A developer whose app will have agents as users and who needs to know which human owns the agent.
- Secondary
- A team whose agent currently borrows a person's login.
- Early adopter
- One app that already has Google sign-in and will add a second button.
How could it make money?
Possible models. Nothing here is a claim about what AgentMail charges.
- Free to add, then a price when a company wants a registered app, an owner email, or revocation across many agents. AgentMail's blog says AgentID is free for apps to add. Do not invent a second price.
- The launch offers three months of an AgentMail plan for a screenshot of an integration. That is a promotion, not a business model.
- An API key or a per-seat plan are options for a new product. They are not what the post charges.
What would the MVP look like?
- One app you already ship.
- One sign-in button.
- A token that names the agent and the human.
- A way to revoke the agent.
- No stored password.
How to validate the idea
- Watch one agent try to sign up for a tool you use. Write down where it stops: a password, a code, a captcha, a consent screen.
- Add a fake sign-in that only returns an id and an owner email. Ask three developers if they would accept that token.
- If they still want the agent on a shared staff login, they do not have this problem yet.
How to differentiate
- One auth stack you already know, not every provider.
- The owner is a field in the token, not a spreadsheet.
- Revoke the agent. Leave the human alone.
- Do not become an inbox company unless email is the product.
Why this could be interesting now
Agents are being asked to use the same apps people use, and those apps still assume a human at the password. The AgentID post is one public attempt to make the agent the account.
Original product launch
This launch is inspiration and evidence that someone shipped, not a partnership. The idea above is our reading of the broader opportunity. AgentMail did not write it.

A sign-in button so an agent uses its own inbox and identity, linked to a human owner. The post says it is standard OIDC for Clerk, Auth0, and Supabase.
